Nastia Liukin-Olympic All Around Champion
Nastia was spectacular that night! First thing she sticks her vault. And the scoring I will probably never forget, but this time they took away 7 or eight tenths away. She could not have done the vault any better! I like it when the announcer said "if I went done to the judging panel, and asked them to show me where those deductions were, they would not be able to tell me." Because they were not there! Shawn also did good vault but took a big step and to the side a bit. Then they went to the uneven bars and Nastia was great again. Then beam, and Nastia was awesome and stuck that dismount too! Shawn was pretty good to, she had a wobble and her Arabian thing- a back flip with a full twist. She did not stick her dismount. Then floor. In warm up, Nastia was having trouble with one of her tumbling passes. She kept going out of bounds. But when when she went it was beautiful! Shawn did here best on floor, and hung on for the silver. This was the first time ever for American Gymnasts to go 1, 2!
